Save the Understory: Volunteers Needed – Fri, 3/25

Our Forest Fund is sponsoring a plant salvage operation on Friday March 25, 2022.  Work will be starting on the new parking lot at the Stottlemeyer trailhead of the PGFHP.  Volunteers are needed to dig up plants in the area which is going to be cleared, and transplant them to another area of the park where understory plants are needed.

There are two shifts — join one or the other, or both:

  • Shift 1…digging – 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Shift 2…transplanting – Noon to 3:30 p.m.

Bring: shovel, clippers, bucket, drinking water, snacks, sturdy footwear
Special note: We will be working off trail on uneven and brushy terrain.
