Let’s Plant Some More Trees!

Kitsap County Parks has 5,000 tree saplings to get into the ground by March 15. Let’s get out there and make it happen!

Come join Our Forest Fund, Kitsap County Parks and other volunteers on Saturday Jan 27, 2024 9am-12noon, for a special work party to interplant trees in newly thinned areas of the PGFHP. The areas we will be working in are part of the 756 acres of trees which the community saved in 2022.

No worries if you’ve never planted trees before — Arno Bergstrom, Kitsap county forester emeritus, along with several Kitsap Parks Forest Stewards will teach you all you need to know to plant a legacy.

Meet at the main PGFHP trailhead (Bayview) parking lot on Hwy 104 at 9am. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes or boots and work gloves. Bring water and snacks if you so desire. Hot cider will be provided!

A tree planting shovel is a great tool to have!

If you have a narrow shovel, bring it along. Five gallon buckets are helpful, too. See you there!

If you can’t make it on the 27th, we will also be planting on Wednesday, Feb 14th and also Sunday March 17th.
