This St. Patrick’s Day: Plant Green!
Our last tree-planting of the season is coming up this St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2024. After that, it will probably be too dry for the transplants to thrive.
This time, Our Forest Fund and forest-loving volunteers like YOU will be planting in Wicks Lake Park, a little gem of a park located in the south end of Kitsap County. It’s located southwest of the Sedgwick Road exit from Highway 16.
Because it is way down south, and a Sunday, we’re having a 10am start time, and we’ll plant till 1pm. Northenders are encouraged to meet up at the Poulsbo Viking Way Transit Center, back row, to carpool to Wicks Lake. We will depart at 9:15am sharp!
Arno Bergstrom, Kitsap County forester emeritus, along with several Kitsap Parks Forest Stewards will teach you all you need to know to plant a green legacy.

As always, dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes or boots and work gloves. Buckets and shovels will be provided by Parks, or bring your own.
Bring water and snacks if you so desire. Refreshments will be provided!
We hope to see you there!
